The event is sanctioned by Cross Country Canada (CCC) and the Federation internationale de ski (FIS). .
Ontario Cup Race #1 will run concurrently.
Registration:
On-line with Zone4 (www.zone4.ca).
Entries must be submitted by Midnight Wednesday December 26, 2007 EASTERN TIME.
NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Athletes are responsible for verifying their registration in particular their races, category, club and gender on the list which will be published at www.highlandsnordic.on.ca starting on Monday, December 31, 2007 and notify the organization of any changes before Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 1500 hours eastern time to dfriendly@lhgroup.com.

Eligibility:
In order to participate in the open , junior men and junior women classes of races a skier must have a valid racing licence issued by FIS or CCC or a Supporting Member Day Licence (SMDL). In order to be eligible for the Team Trials a valid CCC License is required.
Skiers in Junior Boy, Junior Girl, Juvenile Boy and Juvenile Girl categories will need a CCC License or a Supporting Member Day License (SMDL). Midget skiers do not need a License, however, must provide a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.
Fees: (non-refundable, payable via Zone 4 only)
Fees include access to trails on training and competition days only (January 2 – 6 inclusive).
Open, Masters, Junior and Juvenile categories: $35 per race
Midget: $15 per race.

Wednesday January 2: Training and course inspection for January 3 races.
Thursday January 3: Pursuit Classic/Free First start at 9:00_a.m.
Open Women 2 x 5k Pursuit without a break
Junior Women 2 x 5k Pursuit without a break
Open Men 2 x 10k Pursuit without a break.
Junior Men 2 x 10k Pursuit without a break
Junior Boys 2 x 5k Pursuit without a break
Junior Girls, Juvenile Boys, Juvenile Girls* 2 x 2.5k Pursuit without a break
*Please note that the Total Climb for the 5k Pursuit race (164m) exceeds the recommended maximum for Juvenile Girls (150m). Use discretion!
Friday January 4: Training and course inspection for January 5 and 6 races.
Saturday January 5: Individual Sprints in Free Technique. First start at 9:30 a.m.

Competitors who do not return their bibs at the end of each race will be charged $30.00 Canadian funds for replacement of the bib.
Awards:
Open Categories will have medals and cash prizes. Other categories will have medals and merchandise prizes. Awards will be presented based on unofficial results as soon as possible after each race.
